What happens during infusion therapy?

Next, you sit down in a comfortable chair and your provider asks you to make a fist. After identifying a vein, your doctor disinfects your arm with rubbing alcohol and carefully inserts the needle. The needle connects to a catheter that holds your infusion solution. From start to finish, an infusion appointment typically takes between 60-90 minutes.
